Make Some Noise for the Springboks

by Stacey Rumble on 2011/08/24

Last night Springbok Coach P.Divvy rolled out his selection for the final Rugby World Cup squad.

There were 2600 mentions online from people like you and me talking about the announcement and what we thought of it.

23% of people endorsed the selection. 64% of people talked about it neutrally. The remaining 13% were disapproving. Many Ardent fans were a little disappointed by the lime-lighted slip-up of the national anthem and with 100s of mentions, were quite vocal about it too.

Nearly 4 Million People involved!
Because we talked about it so much, 3 925 480 people had the Opportunity-To-See (OTS) our conversation.  And that was just online – not counting what we said to each other live.

Three quarters of a million rand!
Our online conversation about last night was worth an Advert Value Equivalent (AVE) of R 760 983.

Top platforms we used to talk about it? Facebook (4% of us) and Twitter (91% of us).

And the most talked about players? John Smit, Butch James, Pierre Spies, Victor Matfield and Bryan Habana

At the end of the day, if there’s one proven way to get this country standing together, it’s behind sport. To the Springboks, we wish you all the best for the World Cup, make us proud!
