Frequently Asked Questions

Why don't you offer a free trial?

While we'd really like to do a free trial, we've found that our competitors have stolen ideas from the software in the past - and it's tough seeing your work plagiarised. Rather than go the legal route, we've opted to offer the product at a really low cost, so we can keep out the riff-raff, keep the service top notch, and keep would-be knockoffs away.

Why should I care about online mentions of my brand?

Bad word of mouth can spread in no time in the online world causing massive damage to your brand's reputation. BrandsEye gives you the potential to react immediately to any negative mention about your brand and to act on any opportunity that presents itself before your competitors. It also provides you with an understanding of how your brand is being perceived online.

Will BrandsEye track all of my brand's mentions?

Unlike most other ORM tools on offer BrandsEye scours the entire Internet for mentions of your brand. So while some tools only search open-text or official press sources BrandsEye will look for every mention. While it is almost impossible to pick up every single mention the use of multiple feed engines significantly decreases the chances of any mentions slipping through.

Can BrandsEye track multiple languages?

Yes. BrandsEye allows you to monitor the web using a full international (UTF-8) character set, just like you perform individual searches in Google.
Top

Do you offer support for BrandsEye?

Yes. Not only do we offer initial training if necessary, but also we're available to provide the answers to all your BrandsEye related questions.
Top

Can I or my immediate superior be automatically notified when a serious mention occurs?

Yes. Our RSS feeds are customisable across a range of criteria including date, relevancy, the impact of the mention on your brand and the credibility of the source.
Top

Do I have to edit and rate every single mention of my brand?

This is completely at your discretion. We suggest that you sit down and draw up a guideline for how you wish to proceed. Although editing every mention including directory listings might provide you with an in-depth analysis of your reputation and of how much coverage your brand is getting it may prove to be too time consuming when measured against the time required to do so. What is important is to provide the employees doing the editing of your mentions with a concrete plan to ensure that consistency is maintained.
Top

If more than one person is doing the editing of the mentions won't subjectivity result in inconsistent ratings?

We provide a guideline for ratings to ensure that everyone is on the same page. These are then further customisable for every brand.
Top

How is my reputation score calculated?

BrandsEye has a unique algorithm that takes a number of criteria into account when measuring the impact of each mention on your brand. Each criterion is uniquely weighted to provide you with the most realistic reputation score possible.
Top

Can I track competitors' brands?

Yes, there is no limit to what you can track or measure. Setting up of search phrases and categories is crucial in ensuring that relevant mentions are picked up and assigned to the correct categories.

I don't have the time/personnel to edit all of my mentions. Are there any other options available to me?

As long as solid editing guidelines are provided, editing mentions is a simple and straightforward process. You can hire a college student to do so on a part-time basis or else you can assign half-an-hour of each relevant employee's time to doing so. Alternatively we can edit your mentions for you at a separate fee structure.
